Shannon Beach is currently closed due to the high water level of Shuswap Lake until further notice.
This site is 18.33 hectares (45.29 acres) in size, including over 400 metres (1,312 feet) of shoreline on Shuswap Lake in Eagle Bay. A parking lot has been constructed above Eagle Bay Road opposite the beach which includes a vault toilet and garbage receptacles. A short wheelchair accessible trail leads across Eagle Bay Road to the beach (watch for traffic). The beach area expands as the lake water recedes during the summer. High water is in late June with a narrow beach but by late August the beach is up to 25 metres wide. A picnic table that is wheelchair accessible is found on this site with beautiful views of the lake. The large swimming area is cordoned off from boat traffic with buoys. A swimming raft is provided for the enjoyment of swimmers and sun bathers. This is a rocky beach, so please bring your water shoes. Shannon Beach is owned by the CSRD.
Shannon Beach features a recreational nature walking, snowshoe, and mountain biking trail in the growing Shuswap Trail System. A great family picnic destination, and cool place for a quiet walk in nature.
