Mount Baldy Trail

The Mount Baldy recreational trail is a collaborative project between the Columbia Shuswap Regional District, the Sorrento and Area Community Association and the Shuswap Trail Alliance. It’s an intermediate walk (uphill) through mixed forests to a majestic lookout over Shuswap Lake and Copper Island. At the summit, hikers will be treated to wide views of the North Shuswap and Tappen areas.

There is also a unique trail through a beautiful stand of aspen. This makes for a lovely four-season destination, especially for viewing the fall colours.

The Shuswap Trail Alliance has extensive information about this area here in addition to the geo-referenced map below.

Park Location

Access the Mt Baldy trailhead by driving west of Sorrento on Highway #1. Turn south onto Elson Road and drive to the very end of the road (turns into South Shore Place), over the railway track, and take the first left to park in the cul-de-sac. Please be sure to park allowing plenty of room for others to turn around, and avoid blocking local driveways.
