What is Development Variance Permit No. 701-126 (DVP701-126)?

The subject property is located at 1343 Corriano Road in Sorrento of Electoral Area C and is more particularly shown on the location map below.

The property owner is proposing to build an accessory building which will exceed the maximum height permitted for an accessory building in the South Shuswap Zoning Bylaw No. 701. The proposed Development Variance Permit is to increase the maximum height from 6.0 m to 7.9 m, as shown on the attached site plan.

A copy of the proposed permit application and relevant background documents may be inspected at the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD), 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM, beginning Thursday, May 5, 2022 and ending Thursday, May 19, 2022. (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Statutory holidays); or, contact the staff person listed below. The documents will also be available to view on the CSRD website starting on Friday, May 13, 2022, at the Meeting Agendas & Minutes page under the applicable meeting date.

How do I send a written submission about this permit application?

Written submissions will be accepted at the CSRD until 4:00 PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. The Board of the CSRD considers the author's name and residential address relevant to the Board's consideration of this matter and should be included in your submission. The author's phone number and email address are not relevant to the Board’s consideration of this matter and should not be included in the written submission. Written submissions received by the CSRD are subject to public disclosure and a copy may be provided to the applicant. Please clearly write "DVP Submission – DVP701-126" on your submission. Where and when will the permit be considered for issuance?

At the CSRD, 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC, during the Regular Board Meeting commencing at 9:30 AM on Thursday, May 19, 2022. 

The Regular Meeting will convene in the CSRD Boardroom with a combination of in-person and virtual attendance. There is no specific opportunity for the public to provide verbal or written submissions about this application at this meeting.
