What is Development Variance Permit No. 641-42C (DVP641-42C)?

The subject properties are located at 1885 Tappen Notch Hill Road  Lot 1, Section 23, Range 10, W6M, KDYD Plan KAP55494, Excluding Plans KAP65068, KAP69965 and KAP75073; and Lot 1 Section 23 Township 21 Range 10, W6M, KDYD, Plan 34273:

There are two properties involved in this subdivision. The Northern property is used as a farm (north end of property) and a mobile home park (south end of property). The southern property is vacant. The owner is applying to subdivide the southern property into three lots and consolidate the fourth lot remainder with the northern property.

The applicant proposes to use a shared access for lots 2 and 3 of the proposed subdivision with a maximum slope of 15% which is greater than the 12.5% maximum slope for access driveways that serve more than one dwelling in Section 7.2 of the CSRD Subdivision Servicing Bylaw No. 641.

A Development Variance Permit (DVP) application is required to vary the maximum slope of an access driveway requirement of Bylaw No. 641

A copy of the proposed permit application and relevant background documents may be inspected at the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD), 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, beginning Friday, November 26, 2020 and ending Thursday, December 10, 2020.  (Please note that CSRD office hours open to the public are subject to change depending upon Provincial Health Orders and recommendations.) The documents will also be available to view on the CSRD website starting on November 26, 2020 at www.csrd.bc.ca/meeting-agendas-and-minutes under the applicable meeting date. 

How do I send a written submission about this permit application? 

Written submissions will be accepted at the CSRD office, 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC, until 4:00 PM on Tuesday, December 8, 2020.  The Board of the CSRD considers the author's name and residential address relevant to the Board's consideration of this matter and should be included in your submission. The author's phone number and email address are not relevant to the Board’s consideration of this matter and should not be included in the written submission. Written submissions received by the CSRD are subject to public disclosure and a copy may be provided to the applicant. Please clearly write "DVP Submission – DVP641-42C" on your submission. Where and when will the permit be considered for issuance?

At the CSRD, 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC, during the Regular Board Meeting commencing at 9:30 AM on Thursday, December 10, 2020. 

Due to special provisions regarding COVID-19 granted by Provincial Ministerial Order M192, the December 10, 2020 CSRD Board meeting will be taking place through the use of remote communications technology and only a limited number of the public will be able to be present. There is no specific opportunity for the public to provide verbal or written submissions about this permit application at this meeting. The outcome of the permit application will be made available to any interested member of the public by emailing plan@csrd.bc.ca or by contacting the member of the planning staff listed below.
