What is Development Variance Permit No. 650-41 (DVP650-41)?

The subject property is located at 7761 Columbia Drive in Anglemont of Electoral Area F and is more particularly shown on the location map below:

The subject property is located at 7761 Columbia Drive in Anglemont and the owners have constructed two allan block retaining walls up to 3.05m in height on the subject property that have been built into the interior parcel line setbacks. The applicant has applied for a development variance permit to allow for these walls to remain in their current location. This application requires the following variances to Anglemont Zoning Bylaw No. 650:

  • Section 5.6.2(g) minimum setback from the east interior side parcel boundary from 2m to 1.2m for the existing upper retaining wall
  • Section 5.6.2 (g) minimum setback from the west interior side parcel boundary from 2m to 0m for the existing upper retaining wall
  • Section 5.6.2 (g) minimum setback from the east interior side parcel boundary from 2m to 0.90m for the existing lower retaining wall

A copy of the proposed permit application and relevant background documents may be inspected at the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD), 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, beginning Thursday, November 26, 2020 and ending Thursday, December 10, 2020. (Please note that CSRD office hours open to the public are subject to change depending upon Provincial Health Orders and recommendations.) The documents will also be available to view on the CSRD website starting on Friday, December 4th 2020 at www.csrd.bc.ca/meeting-agendas-and-minutes under the applicable meeting date.

How do I send a written submission about this permit application? 

Written submissions will be accepted at the CSRD until 4:00 PM on Tuesday, December 8, 2020.  The Board of the CSRD considers the author's name and residential address relevant to the Board's consideration of this matter and should be included in your submission. The author's phone number and email address are not relevant to the Board’s consideration of this matter and should not be included in the written submission. Written submissions received by the CSRD are subject to public disclosure and a copy may be provided to the applicant. Please clearly write "DVP Submission – DVP650-41" on your submission. Where and when will the permit be considered for issuance?

At the CSRD, 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC, during the Regular Board Meeting commencing at 9:30 AM on Thursday, December 10, 2020. 

Due to special provisions regarding COVID-19 granted by Provincial Ministerial Order M192, the December 10, 2020 CSRD Board meeting will be taking place through the use of remote communications technology and only a limited number of the public will be able to be present. There is no specific opportunity for the public to provide verbal or written submissions about these applications at this meeting.
