On July 24, Golden’s first adaptive-inclusive trail opened to the public, providing additional mountain biking opportunities in the community, and making Golden’s trail network more accessible and inclusive. Located near the CBT trail network, the new trail is open to all non-motorized users with a 3.6 km trail loop with a directional climbing trail and two descending trail options.
As one of the funding partners, the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) contributed $20,000 towards the development of this unique new adaptive-inclusive trail.
“The creation of the adaptive-inclusive trail is a wonderful example of community stakeholders working collaboratively to support one of our most important community recreation resources, our trail system,” said CSRD Electoral Area A Director Karen Cathcart.
“Thank you to everyone who have worked tirelessly to complete this most important recreation resource so that all users can participate.”
