Use caution on winter trails

Monday, January 6, 2020

Please be advised that in the wake of the recent snowstorms, users of any Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) trails should take extra caution.

The CSRD does not conduct any regular winter maintenance on any trails. Users of the trails are doing so at their own risk.

At this time, trail users should anticipate branches and trees will be down on every trail in the Shuswap. Some trails may be impassible and dangerous, please use caution and common sense when hiking on any trail.

Avoid using any trails in windy conditions, which increases the risk of falling trees or tree branches.

Trail users should always be prepared when going out on local trails, especially in winter conditions.

Issues with trails can be reported to the Shuswap Trail Alliance.

Trail maintenance will be conducted in the spring as part of the CSRD's regular maintenance schedule.
