The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) is helping to spark the purchase of an electric vehicle which will help provide free door-to-door transportation for senior residents of Electoral Area E and Sicamous.
CSRD directors unanimously approved a $25,000 contribution to the Eagle Valley Transportation Society towards the purchase of an electric vehicle for the program at the October 18, 2018 Regular Board Meeting.
Below: The CSRD will be contributing $25,000 towards the purchase of an electric vehicle, similar to this one pictured at the District of Sicamous Electric Car Charging Station. The Eagle Valley Transportation Society will use the purchase to continue to provide free rides to seniors with limited access to transportation. The District of Sicamous will be allowing the non-profit society to use the car charging station without cost.
