The CSRD will be holding back-to-back public hearings on two bylaw applications in Electoral Area B.

1. Electoral Area B Official Community Plan (OCP) Amendment (F. Linden Logging Co. Ltd.) Bylaw No. 850-13 and Electoral Area B Zoning Amendment (F. Linden Logging Co. Ltd.) Bylaw No. 851-18

2. Electoral Area B Official Community Plan Amendment (Dow-Pors) Byalw No. 850-14 and Electoral Area B Zoning Amendment (Dow-Pors) Bylaw No. 851-17

On May 1, 2020, the Province of BC issued Ministerial Order M192 which allows local governments during the COVID 19 Provincial State of Emergency to hold electronic public hearings. The CSRD wishes to have the public participate to the greatest degree possible in the public hearing process, either in-person or electronically. So the CSRD has developed multiple ways for you to share your ideas and opinions.

The subject property is located at 4545 Highway 31 in the Trout Lake area of Electoral Area B and is more particularly shown on the location map below:

The applicant would like to subdivide the subject property into 1 lot plus a remainder. Please see proposal on Page 3. In order to facilitate this subdivision the applicant is proposing to amend the Official Community Plan (OCP) designation from RSC – Rural and Resource to SH – Small Holdings and amend the zoning designation from RH – Rural Holdings to SH – Small Holdings. The applicant has offered a Section 219 covenant to limit the subdivision to a total of two parcels.

The subject property is located at 3270 Loschinski Road, approximately 3.5 km west of the City of Revelstoke and is more particularly shown on the location map below:

The applicants would like to add up to six tourist cabins to the subject property and operate these as rentals. In order to facilitate the proposed subdivision the applicant is proposing to amend the Official Community Plan (OCP) designation for the portion of the property where the cabins would be located from SH – Small Holdings to and amend the zoning for that same portion of the property from SH – Small Holdings to RC2 – Resort Commercial 2, with a special regulation to restrict the number of tourist cabins to six.
