Electoral Area B Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 851-12

Short Summary:

The applicant would like to offer beer and wine to day use patrons of their heli-skiing business as an après-ski service at their day lodge which is located on the subject property. This application was originally a Temporary Use Application, however the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch (LCLB) refused to issue a liquor license for a temporary use. As a result the application was changed to a bylaw amendment to allow the use permanently. The applicant is requesting a site specific use be added to the zone for this property only. The Board gave first reading to BL851-12 at their meeting on December 1, 2017. Since that time, staff have amended the bylaw to clarify permitted uses on the property such as heli-tourism day lodge, and staff accommodation, and have added new definitions related to these uses. As there are additional definitions proposed to be added to the Electoral Area B Zoning Bylaw and the proposed site specific zoning regulation is being amended, the bylaw is being referred to the APC and applicable First Nations for comments.
