About the Park
This CSRD-owned park is 18.33 hectares (45.29 acres) in size, including over 400 metres (1,312 feet) of shoreline on Shuswap Lake in Eagle Bay. A parking lot has been constructed above Eagle Bay Road opposite the beach which includes a vault toilet and garbage receptacles. A short wheelchair-accessible trail leads across Eagle Bay Road to the beach (watch for traffic).
The beach area expands as the lake water recedes during the summer. High water is in late June with a narrow beach but by late August the beach is up to 25-metres wide. A wheelchair-accessible picnic table is found on this site with beautiful views of the lake. The large swimming area is cordoned off from boat traffic with buoys. A swimming raft and dock are provided for the enjoyment of swimmers and sun bathers. This is a rocky beach, so please bring your water shoes.
The parking area is the trailhead for the Shannon Beach Trail Network, consisting of four kilometres of hiking and biking trails, with two loop options. It's a great family picnic destination, and cool place for a quiet walk in nature.
View a description of the trail on the Shuswap Trail Alliance website.
