TAKE NOTICE that in accordance with the Local Government Act the Columbia Shuswap Regional District ("Regional District") will hold a PUBLIC HEARING regarding proposed Rural Sicamous Land Use Amendment (Shandy Cove) Bylaw No. 2062 and Lakes Zoning Amendment (Shandy Cove) Bylaw No. 900-11.

Alternative Approval Process - Shuswap Watershed Council Service

Approval to proceed with the adoption of the Shuswap Watershed Council Service Establishment Bylaw No. 5705 is being sought from the electors of Electoral Areas C, D, E, and F of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District and from the electors of the District of Sicamous by use of the alternative approval process.  The Board may proceed with adoption of Bylaw No.

One of the most important requirements for the long-term viability of agriculture is the availability of water. The Ministry of Agriculture, Columbia Shuswap Regional District and the Partnership for Water Sustainability in BC are working together to collect information on the land use status of farming areas to develop an agricultural water demand model.

The BC Wildfire Service is urging industry partners and all persons to please be extremely cautious and diligent while carrying out activities outdoors.  The weather for the Kamloops Fire Centre is forecasted to remain hot and dry for the next 8 - 10 days, which further intensifies the potential of a wildfire breaking out.

Mock Evacuation Exercise

Shuswap Emergency Program is hosting an evacuation scenario at the Silver Creek Community Hall involving mock evacuees who had to leave the house with pets. The program is seeking citizen volunteers who would be willing to bring a pet or two and give up an hour or so of time to play the role of an evacuee.
