District of Sicamous
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) is helping to spark the purchase of an electric vehicle which will help provide free door-to-door transportation for senior residents of Electoral Area E and Sicamous.
CSRD directors unanimously approved a $25,000 contribution to the Eagle Valley Transportation Society towards the purchase of an electric vehicle for the program at the October 18, 2018 Regular Board Meeting.
Shuswap local and Secwépemc governments have come together in the spirit of cooperation to formally endorse a communications agreement between all parties.
A celebration of the agreement was held at the Adams Lake Indian Band Recreation and Conference Centre on Friday, September 28, including a welcome song, drumming, speeches and the official signing of the document.
Shuswap Emergency Program is getting ready for higher than normal lake levels on Shuswap and Mara lakes. Residents should prepare early for lake levels similar to 2012 (2012 lake levels were 349.58m, the current lake levels are 348.81m). Sandbags are available throughout the Shuswap; locations of sandbags are available on the CSRD website’s Shuswap Emergency Program page.
