District of Sicamous
The maximum size for docks on a number of Shuswap-area lakes has been increased by the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) and the new regulations are now in effect.
The lakes affected by the bylaw change include: Humamilt Lake, Hunakwa Lake, Little White Lake, Shuswap Lake, White Lake, and portions of Adams and Mara Lakes.
Trails at Sicamous Creek Falls will be closed indefinitely following a fatal accident that took place July 29.
Sicamous RCMP report the 53-year-old Sherwood Park resident was hiking off the marked trail when he fell from edge of the gorge near the falls.
The CSRD expresses sympathy to the family and friends of the man who died.
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District is inviting Tenders for a five year term for the compaction and cover of refuse at its Refuse Disposal sites in Golden, Revelstoke, Salmon Arm and Sicamous.
Sealed Tenders clearly marked “Tender – Compaction and Cover – CSRD Refuse Disposal Sites 2019”, will be accepted until 11:00 AM PDT on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the office of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District.

Contrary to previous information released in newspaper and radio ads, the depot will no longer be changing locations.
The Shuswap Trail Alliance has been retained by the Sicamous-to-Armstrong Rail Corridor Governance Advisory Committee to administer the day-to-day operations as the project moves into the design and planning stages.
The CSRD Recycling Depot in Sicamous will be combined with the services available at the Sicamous Bottle Depot beginning July 2, 2019.
At the Regular meeting of June 20, 2019, CSRD Directors authorized the relocation of the downtown Sicamous Recycling Depot from its existing location at the Parkland Shopping Centre, at 1133 Eagle Pass Way, to the Sicamous Bottle Depot property located at 322 Finlayson Street.
