With respect to the minor earthquake which took place Saturday, March 2, 2019 in the Salmon Arm area, the Shuswap Emergency Program (SEP) can confirm there were no reports of injury or damage to property.
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District is seeking proposals from qualified Proponents to review the existing Design and Operation Plan for the Salmon Arm Landfill and develop a report to update the existing Design and Operations Plan, a Phase 3 Closure Plan Design report and a Conformance Review report are also required.

The ice rink at the Sorrento Blind Bay Park is open to the public as of Friday, February 15, 2019 and should remain open for the Family Day weekend, barring any abrupt change in the weather.
A burst pipe at the Sorrento Blind Bay Park had delayed the opening of the outdoor rink, however, repairs to the pipe were made, allowing contractors to flood the ice surface. There has now been enough ice made for safe skating.

Repairs to the pipe took place over the weekend and are now complete, so contractors can begin flooding the ice surface again to get the rink ready for skating. Contractors are working hard to get the rink into shape for skaters.

The CSRD is looking for residents of Electoral Areas A, C, D, E and F who want to help our parks and recreation amenities thrive.
In order to participate, and Expression of Interest form must be filled out and submitted to the CSRD by February 15, 2019.
By working together, the City of Salmon Arm and the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) have reached a solution to provide residents with responsive and effective dog control services.
The City and the CSRD have secured the services of Commissionaires BC to provide animal control services within the City boundaries, dog control services in Electoral Area C (South Shuswap) and the Ranchero area of Electoral Area D as well as dangerous dog control in Electoral Area F (North Shuswap.)
