Trained Emergency Support Volunteers needed in the CSRD

Statistically, natural disasters like wildfires and floods are happening more frequently and are more severe. The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) is no exception, as evidenced by flooding, landslides and wildfires in both 2017 and 2018.

As such, the CSRD, the Town of Golden and the City of Revelstoke are looking to expand the base of Emergency Support Services volunteers who can be called upon to assist when needed.

Evacuation Alert remains in place for Camborne

An Evacuation Alert issued by the Columbia Shuswap Regional District on August 1, 2018 for a wildfire burning in close proximity to Camborne, southeast of the City of Revelstoke and northeast of Beaton is still in effect.

As a precautionary measure and in the interest of public safety, the alert is being continued as the fire status remains active and has grown slightly to 110 hectares. BC Wildfire says this fire, known as the Incomappleux River fire, is being closely monitored.

Please see the Evacuation Alert and Map for further details.
