Bylaw Number 900: Lakes Zoning (PDF)

Purpose / Description

On August 16, 2012, the CSRD adopted Lakes Zoning Bylaw Number 900 that applies to Electoral Area C (South Shuswap), Electoral Area E (Rural Sicamous) and Electoral Area F (North Shuswap) and specifically for the following lakes, as outlined in Schedule B (foreshore zone maps): Adams Lake, Humamilt Lake, Hunakwa Lake, Little White Lake, Mara Lake, Shuswap Lake, White Lake.

Bylaw Number 900 regulates where docks, private mooring buoys, and swimming platforms may be located, type and the number of docks and buoys permitted, and which properties are eligible to place them.

Currently, if your parcel is located in Electoral Area C, E, F or G, you may need to apply for a Development Permit for your dock, private mooring buoy, or swimming platform. Development Permits are designated in an Official Community Plan (OCP) Bylaw, see more information about the Foreshore and Water Development Permit Areas on the Dock and Buoy Regulation webpage.

The consolidated bylaw consists of the original, or base, bylaw and current amendments which have been made to the base bylaw.
