What is Development Variance Permit Number 2000-78 (DVP2000-78)?

The subject property is located in Swansea Point of Electoral Area E and is legally described as Lot 1 Section 11 Township 21 Range 8 West of the 6th Meridian Kamloops Division Yale District Plan 111368. This property is more particularly shown on the location map below:

The applicants have applied to recognize the existing location of the single family dwelling and recently constructed/altered decks that have been built within the west interior side parcel boundary on the subject property. The applicants are proposing to vary the Rural Sicamous Land Use Bylaw Number 2000 as follows:

Section 2.12.2(d) minimum interior side parcel boundary from 2 metres to 1.94 metres only for the wall of the single family dwelling

Section 2.12.2(d) minimum interior side parcel boundary from 2 metres to 1.43 metres for the single family dwelling eaves

Section 2.12.2(d) minimum interior side parcel boundary from 2 metres to 0.69 metres only for the covered deck eaves

Section 2.12.2(d) minimum interior side parcel boundary from 2 metres to 0.90 metres for the outer edge of deck railing

Section 2.12.2(d) minimum interior side parcel boundary from 2 metres to 0.83 metres only for the southwest corner of the outer edge deck railing

A copy of the proposed permit application and relevant background documents may be inspected at the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD), 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm, beginning Thursday May 6, 2021 and ending Thursday, May 20, 2021. (Please note that CSRD office hours open to the public are subject to change depending upon Provincial Health Orders and recommendations.) The documents will also be available to view on the CSRD website starting on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the Agendas and Minutes page under the applicable meeting date.

How do I send a written submission about this permit application?

Written submissions will be accepted at the CSRD until 4 pm on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. The Board of the CSRD considers the author's name and residential address relevant to the Board's consideration of this matter and should be included in your submission. The author's phone number and email address are not relevant to the Board's consideration of this matter and should not be included in the written submission. Written submissions received by the CSRD are subject to public disclosure and a copy may be provided to the applicant. Please clearly write "DVP Submission - DVP2000-78" on your submission. Written submissions may be emailed to the Planning Department or to the address above.

Where and when will the permit be considered for issuance?

At the CSRD, 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC, during the Regular Board Meeting commencing at 9:30 am on Thursday, May 20, 2021.

Due to special provisions regarding COVID-19 granted by Provincial Ministerial Order M192, the CSRD Board meeting will be taking place through the use of remote communications technology only. No public attendance is permitted at the meeting. There is no specific opportunity for the public to provide verbal or written submissions about this application at this meeting.
