After weeks of evacuation orders, alerts, and updates, we are now aiming towards a re-entry.
It’s very important you do not show up early or you will create congestion for yourself and others. We are phasing re-entry for this reason, as we still have crews working in the area and the increased traffic from re-entry is expected to be significant.
If you are not from the North Shuswap, please stay away from the area. Extra people make re-entry for locals complicated.
- Starting at 2 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2023, Celista and Magna Bay areas will see their Evacuation Orders downgraded to Alert.
- At 4 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2023, Scotch Creek and Lee Creek areas will see their Evacuation Orders downgraded to Alert.
- At 7 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2023, Lower East Adams Lake and Tsútswecw Park area will see Evacuation Orders downgraded to Alert.
We need to stress the following:
For those using ESS services, do not end your accommodations until you are sure your residence is ready for your return. If you cancel your accommodations, you may not be able to get another room. Connect with ESS to see what your options are if you require your room for longer.
Stay out of burned structures and forest areas - if you enter, injuries are likely.
