The Lower East Adams Lake (previously K21620) and the Bush Creek East (K21633) wildfires merged and will be referred to as the Bush Creek East (K21633) fire going forward.
Weather Conditions and Fire Behavior
Our current battle with these wildfires is greatly influenced by Tropical Storm Hilary, which has brought sustained easterly winds expected to reach 20 kilometers per hour tomorrow, with gusts up to 40 kilometers per hour. While these winds may help mitigate fire behavior to some extent, there remains a potential for extreme fire behavior. Late tomorrow evening, we anticipate receiving 2-3 mm of precipitation, offering temporary relief and enabling our firefighting crews to work directly on suppressing the fire near its perimeter. Based on the current forecast, we anticipate a decrease in fire behavior after tomorrow.

Temporary Access Permits and Safety
Due to ongoing safety concerns and active fire conditions, BCWS (BC Wildfire Service) is not currently issuing any public temporary access permits. We are actively addressing safety issues and will provide updates on re-entry permits when it is deemed safe to do so. Concerns such as falling danger trees, utility poles, and active fires remain paramount, with RCMP and security actively patrolling the area.
