UPDATE – August 20, 2023 at 7:00 PM

  • Last night The Lower East Adams Lake (previously K21620) and the Bush Creek East (K21633) wildfires merged and will be referred to as the Bush Creek East (K21633) fire going forward.
  • Emergency Support Services: If you are under an Evacuation Order and you have pre-registered online for ESS you are still required to check in at the ESS. Contact ESS for more information at 250-833-3360.
  • The BC Wildfire Service and multiple structural fire departments remain engaged in active and critical firefighting operations in the North Shuswap area. They urgently ask for the public's assistance by not moving or taking any firefighting equipment.
  • The Columbia Shuswap Regional District, the RCMP, the BC Wildfire Service, and the community members of North Shuswap are all in this together.
  • The Shuswap Emergency Program is working hard to provide accurate and real time information. At this time all Evacuation Alert and Orders remain in place.
  • For those looking to donate, please call 250-833-3396 to coordinate arrangements.
  • If you are evacuated and need help with livestock, please use the Agricultural Line at the Emergency Operations Centre: 250-833-3399.
  • For those looking for information on road conditions and events, please visit www.drivebc.ca for most up to date and accurate information.
  • Due to safety concerns and active fire conditions, BCWS is not allowing any temporary access permits at this time. We are actively working to address the safety situation and when it is safe to do so we will provide updates for re-entry permits. Falling danger trees, utility poles, and active fires, are of concern at this time. RCMP and security are actively patrolling the area.
  • The Shuswap Emergency Program Emergency Information Map is where you can find current information on the evacuation orders and alerts for your property. To access the map, go to this link - Emergency Mapping Dashboard (https://experience.arcgis.com/.../a5a71009863947d3b1c7779...). You can enter an exact address and find the emergency information relating to that address. The Evacuation Order or Alert status will be displayed in the property information.
