Dog licensing is in place for Electoral Area C (Eagle Bay, White Lake, Tappen, Sunnybrae) and Electoral Area G (Blind Bay, Sorrento, Notch Hill). Currently, every dog (over the age of four months) who resides within these two Electoral Areas must be licensed. Licenses are issued by the CSRD and must be purchased before January 31 in each calendar year or once a dog reaches the age of four months.
There are no dog control programs or dog licensing options in the CSRD's Electoral Areas A, B, and E.
Dog owners in Electoral Area D are not required to purchase a dog license for their pet. There is also no option for voluntary dog licensing in Electoral Area D.
Dog licensing within Electoral Area F is voluntary. If you are interested in licensing your dog in Electoral Area F, please contact the CSRD for further information.
Dog Licensing in Electoral Areas C & G
Dog owners in Electoral Area C and G can purchase a dog license using the CSRD's online dog licensing program. The online program makes it easier for dog owners to obtain a license. Purchasing a dog licence is one of the best things you can do to ensure your pet is returned to you if it is lost. The license identifies ownership information so the animal control officer can quickly return your pet to its family.
Owners can now choose the type of license they wish to purchase for their dog. An Annual Dog License can be purchased each year and is valid from January 1 to December 31 in the year of purchase. An Annual Renewable License can be purchased for a $50 one-time fee and it will renew automatically for the lifetime of your dog. Owners are responsible to notify the CSRD when the ownership information for that dog changes.
