COVID-19 Safety
The CSRD takes COVID-19 very seriously and continues to follow the recommendations from BC provincial public health officers, and guidance from the BC Centre for Disease Control, the World Health Organization and other partner agencies to monitor the COVID-19 situation and respond appropriately.
The CSRD office is open to the public from 9 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding statutory holidays. The public is strongly encouraged to contact staff through telephone or email or to make an appointment if an in-person visit to the office is necessary. This will assist in maintaining physical distancing and reduce exposure to the virus. Some CSRD staff continue to work remotely at various times to reduce the number of people in the administrative office.
Here are some ways we have adjusted our services:
- Visitors and staff are expected to respect any public health orders currently in place. This may include wearing of masks or physical distancing.
- Increased daily cleaning and sanitization of common contact surfaces
- Plexiglas barriers have been installed to reduce potential transmission at service counters
- Board and many committee meetings are available for viewing on Zoom, rather than only in-person.
As directed by Public Health Office (PHO) guidance and WorkSafeBC regulations, the CSRD has a Communicable Disease Prevention Plan in place that includes measures to reduce the risk of communicable disease in our workplaces.
Board Meetings
The CSRD’s Board of Director meetings are held in the CSRD Boardroom. While in-person meetings are permitted, many CSRD Board Directors and staff continue to participate in these meetings electronically to help reduce any potential spread of COVID-19. The CSRD will comply with all current public health orders regarding public meetings, which may mean changes to in-person meetings may take place on short notice.
Electronic access to Board meetings will continue to be provided.
Citizens are able to tune in to the meeting using the Zoom platform. Viewers will see and hear the meeting taking place in the Boardroom, but will not be able to speak or participate, unless permitted by the moderator. If you need assistance with Zoom, our Public Participation page may help. Regular Board meetings are also being recorded and can be accessed at the Video Recording page for approximately 30 days up until the next regular meeting.
Parks & Community Facilities
The CSRD owns and operates a variety of public indoor and outdoor recreation and public facilities. Our organization is committed to adapting its community services protocols and processes to align with the Provincial Health Officer guidelines and directives. The CSRD will be operating our recreation and community facilities with the health and safety of staff and the community being the priority. Please be advised that facility closures may occur on short notice, given any changing conditions of virus spread.
Public Hearings for Development Applications
COVID-19 has resulted in some changes around how public hearings are held. This includes a new method of electronic participation. Find out more on the Public Hearings page.
