Payment Services
The CSRD offers many different services and payment options for citizens. These options may differ depending on the type of service.
Find out about paying your:
Utility bills can be paid online, by credit card online with OptionPay, in person, by mail, by cheque or by Interac e-transfer. See the tab menu below for how to pay with your method of choice.
Properties within local water service areas in the CSRD are billed annually for water use. Invoices are mailed by late February and are eligible for a 10 per cent discount if payment is received by the CSRD on or before the discount deadline of April 30.
Water invoices unpaid after December 31 will be transferred to arrears taxes in the following year.
NOTE: It is your responsibility to ensure that utility account deadlines are met in order to obtain discounts. If you have not received your utility invoice, please contact the CSRD to obtain a copy.

The CSRD operates various landfills and transfer stations within the region. At landfills or transfer stations with weigh scales, customers can pay by cash, credit card or debit card. At unscaled transfer stations, cash is the only accepted payment method.
Commercial Customer Credit Accounts
For information regarding your waste disposal and recycling billing, contact us by phone at 250-833-5921, or by email.
Commercial accounts with approved credit are billed semi-monthly with terms of Net 30. Failure to pay on time will result in interest charges pursuant to Bylaw No. 5298. Failure to pay within 60 days may result in the loss of credit privileges.
Payments for development fees can be paid online, by credit card in person or online, in person, by mail, by cheque or by Interac e-transfer. In-person credit card payments may not exceed $1,500.

If you wish to pay online through your bank, you will need to email the Finance Department for the appropriate account number.

Dog owners in Electoral Area C and G can purchase a dog licence using the CSRD's online dog licensing program. This can be done through Pay Pal or a credit card.
Payments can also be made in-person at the CSRD Office.
The Regional District does not issue property tax notices, nor does it accept payment for property taxes.
If you are a rural property owner, your tax notice is sent to you from the Surveyor of Taxes in Victoria. The Province collects your rural, school, and Regional District taxes.
City of Salmon Arm, City of Revelstoke, District of Sicamous or Town of Golden property owners should contact their local government for information regarding property taxes, as payments are made directly to the municipality.

How to:
When paying by mail, make the cheque payable to "Columbia Shuswap Regional District."
Please accept the cancelled cheque as your receipt. Do not send cash in the mail.

In-office credit card payments can be made with VISA, Mastercard or American Express for certain services up to $1,500. Exceptions to this include:
- Utility billing
- Commercial credit accounts
- Certain miscellaneous fees
Interac e-transfer payment requirements:

Please send remittance information to the finance department including:
1. Account identification -
- Utility billing number: 13-digit account number
- Accounts receivable: six-digit alphanumeric account number, plus specific invoice number if not paying full account balance
- Development Service Applications: property address and application type. If no property address is assigned, please provide PID and application type
- Building Inspection: Property address and permit number
- All other payment types: include as much detail as possible about what the payment is for, including, if applicable, the name of the CSRD staff member you have been working with.

E-transfers sent without a remittance email as noted above will be rejected and any associated fees will become the responsibility of the customer.
The CSRD is now accepting online invoice payments with VISA or MasterCard through the secure OptionPay System (with applicable third party fees). Find out how to use OptionPay.
Any fees can be paid using OptionPay, with no limit on the amount.
Currently the following bill types for the Regional District can be paid through OptionPay:
- Accounts Receivable (invoice)
- Development Services Applications
- Dog Licenses
- Building Permits
- Tickets/Fines
- Utility Bills
- Certain other services or fees. Please contact the CSRD.

The CSRD is registered with most financial institutions in Canada for electronic banking online. If you are unable to add the CSRD as a payee, please discuss that with your financial institution. To ensure payments are received by the discount deadline, payments must be processed by your financial institution by close of business on the due date.
- For utility bills, you will need the 13-digit account number printed on your utility bill to process your payment.
- For waste and recycling fees, you will need the six-digit, alpha-numeric account number printed on your invoice to process your payment.
- If you wish to pay online for Bylaw Offence Notices through your bank, you will need to email the Finance Department for the appropriate account number.
