Cedar Heights Waterworks

The Cedar Heights water system is located on just off the Trans Canada Highway approximately 25 kilometres west of Salmon Arm and 5 kilometres east of Sorrento. The system has approximately 380 connections and has undergone extensive upgrades over recent years, which were funded through the BC Community Water Improvement Program and included new pumps, installation of chlorination and Ultra Violet (Sterilight) systems, emergency power and upgrades to the electrical & instrumentation systems. The community also underwent the installation of water meters which were funded by a Towns for Tomorrow grant. A SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system was installed in 2010, which provides full remote monitoring capabilities.
