The Town of Golden and the CSRD’s Electoral Area 'A’ jointly fund the program that extends from Donald Station south to Harrogate in the Columbia Valley including Kicking Horse Resort. Two studies have recently been carried out to determine the feasibility of providing nuisance mosquito control programs in other areas of the Regional District. The results of those studies are as follows:
A formal public assent process was carried out in Falkland in 2009 to determine the community's desire for a program in that area. Because of the very narrow margin of approval, implementation of a mosquito control program will be delayed indefinitely.
