It is important to be prepared for any emergency by ensuring you have supplies and a plan for what you and your family would do in the event of a major disaster.  There are many factors that can take control of emergency rescue attempts,  it may take emergency workers some time to get to you as they help those in most criticial need.  As well, access to phones, gas, water, sewer and electrical services may be cut off.

Be prepared by MAKING A PLAN, BUILDING A KIT, keeping a GRAB AND GO BAG readily available and don't forget to plan for those PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS and your PETS.
