Effective at noon on Sunday, June 15, 2014, open burning was banned througout the entire Kamloops Fire Centre Area, which includes the Salmon Arm Fire Zone area. This is to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect the
public. There are currently no campfire bans in effect for the Kamloops Fire Centre.

The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) is looking for volunteers in Electoral Area F (Lee Creek, Scotch Creek, Celista, Magna Bay, Anglemont, St. Ives and Seymour Arm) interested in joining their local Advisory Planning Commission (APC).

As a result of the extreme cold, the Hudson/Bloom Creek water source has reached a critically low level. As a result, very little water is entering the water distribution system.
The CSRD adopted Building Regulation Bylaw No. 660 at the February 15, 2018 Board Meeting, effective March 5, 2018.
Building Permits are now required for most new building construction in Electoral Areas B (Rural Revelstoke) and E (Rural Sicamous). Building permits continue to be required in the communities of Lee Creek, Scotch Creek, Celista, Magna Bay, Anglemont, and St. Ives in Electoral Area F (North Shuswap). Six(6) building inspections will be required to be completed by a CSRD Building Inspector during construction.
CSRD Building Bylaw No. 660 was adopted by the CSRD Board of Directors February, 15, 2018. Starting March 5, 2018, Bylaw No. 660 implements a revised building regulation and inspection service in Electoral Area F (North Shuswap) for reasons of health, safety and protection of persons and property.
